When you are accepted, simply copy and paste the provided HTML code into any page that you’d like to show the ads. If you’ve done a good job of defining the content on your web pages, the ads that show should be relevant to the content of your page…increasing the chances of click-thrus by your visitors.

You can either display the ads vertically along side the page like Google does or in a banner-like formation horizontally across your pages. The placement is up to you. You can even customize the colors to match your site’s theme.

For years, website owners have tried to make money from their sites by putting up banner ads in hopes of visitors clicking them. The problem with banner ads is that the Internet audience is so immune to them, people do not click on them anymore.

When’s the last time you clicked a banner ad?

…Exactly!

Second, in order for the web site owner to earn money from that banner ad, usually the web surfer that clicks has to purchase something. With AdSense, your visitors just have to click the ads. They don’t have to purchase a single thing.

Third, most people that use banner ads do not do a good job of matching the ads to the website’s content so the click thru percentages are dismal.

With Google’s AdSense, not only are you displaying text ads, (which tend to receive a much higher click-thru rate than banner ads), but you are displaying contextual ads that match your website’s content….thanks to Google’s advanced technology.

Lots of times people think the ads are part of your site’s content so they click because the information is relevant to your site. Whereas with banner ads, they often have little relevance and people tend to ignore them no matter how much they flash and fly across the page.

Google does not disclose exactly how much you’ll earn per ad that is clicked.

The commission you receive per click depends on how much advertisers are paying Google for the particular ad. You will earn a share of that amount. I’ve heard of earnings anywhere from 5 cents to $50.00 per click.

So it is logical to believe that keyword phrases like debt free, employment, make money, mp3, sex, etc. will earn you more per click since these are highly competitive keywords that are searched for quite a bit on the web.

Advertisers generally pay more for popular terms because they are searched for more.

Even though Google will not reveal how much you are earning for each ad that is clicked from your site, you can still login to your account at any time and see the total amount of revenue you’ve generated that day, week, month, year, etc.

For example, if you see that you’ve made $12.60 today from 9 clicks then you can calculate that your average click-thru commission was $1.40 per click. That’s as detailed as their stats will get. Also remember, that’s only an average. You won’t know how much each specific ad brought in.

The amount you’ll earn also depends largely on the amount of targeted traffic you receive to your own site, how well the ads match your audience’s interests, the placement of the ads on your pages, and of course the amount you receive per click.

Ideally, you should create a site on a topic you know a lot about. That way you’ll have a much easier time creating a generous amount of content on that subject.

I know what you’re probably thinking…

“What’s the catch here? Why would Google just give away money advertisers are paying them?”

The answer…

Because Google is very smart.

If you understand how AdSense works, you will see that it’s a win-win situation for everyone involved, and the bottom line benefits Google. Let me explain…

Since the advertiser’s ads are now being displayed on more web sites all over the internet (instead of just Google’s site), they are getting much more exposure. More exposure means more clicks and even more traffic for their site over a shorter period of time.

This is good news for Google because the more traffic the advertisers receive, the faster their advertising funds are used up.

Remember, they get charged every time their site gets a visit; and of course, it is Google’s hope that they’ll continue to keep funneling more money into their account for more ad exposure.

What an ingenious way for Google to increase the amount of money they earn from advertisers while building loyalty with website owners (like us) who are now getting paid to help them advertise.

Google advertising represents a massive slice of the Internet’s global revenue base; the AdSense Software contributes a large percentage to Google’s annual multi-billion dollar turnover.

There was real confusion in the early days of the internet as to how a search engine, or other business, would sensibly make money from (”monetize”) traffic and, particularly, allow third party advertisers of a range of sizes to get their ads onto the web and for others to make money from displaying them. The real genius of AdSense was to link the advertisers and the advertising ‘hosts’ (websites displaying AdSense adverts), using its amazing Google search engine as the platform to pull both sides together. was born.

In one relatively simple (in hindsight!) step, Google completely revolutionized the ad market on the internet and gave substance to the “click-through” advertising market. It was bold and innovative. It was the start of a multi-billion dollar cash cow. A revolution!!!

How Does it Work?

Users sign up their websites for affiliation with Google. When approved, every site which displays AdSense ads is given special code to place targeted adverts on the website. The adverts are specifically targeted to the CONTENT of the website. Crucial to Google’s model of delivering relevance.

As well as delivering real relevance, the holy grail for every internet user, this approach saved Google from the hassle, web page space and administration associated with managing banner adverts. Sweet, indeed.

In its absolute essence, AdSense is a software program by virtue of which Google will pay you for targeting/directing the users of your website to another website. Advertising in its simplest, neatest, sense.

A “click through” occurs when a visitor clicks on a hyperlink which links to an advert.

The AdSense code used by Google now offers those who display AdSense code an assortment of methods of displaying ads: from text links to graphic links, banner ads to video ads (each having a hyperlink in-built automatically by the AdSense code).

You could get up in the morning whenever you feel like it, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and then, still in your shorts, with another cup of gourmet coffee, you sit at your kitchen table (or wherever you like to do your blogging) for a couple of hours as you update your blog and do a few other little things we can show you exactly how to do just that.

And before you know it, your work is done for the day! You might head outside to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and play a game of catch with your kids. Or you go and have lunch with a friend, maybe at an outdoors cafe. Or maybe you’ll go for a walk in the park, or on the beach.

And as you’re basking in the sun, feeling its warmth on your face, breathing in the clean air, and smelling the freshly mowed grass or maybe even flowering trees if it’s spring, you think back to the bad old days when you couldn’t get outside until the sun went down because your J-O-B kept you tied down indoors all day.

And here’s another part you’ll really love:

You don’t even have to do your blogging at home. You can take your laptop to a cafe. You can take it on a trip and continue to rake in the money from just about anywhere in the world! All you’ll ever really need is your laptop and an internet connection.

Imagine what life will be like if you have all that.

This year could be the BIG breakthrough year you’ve been waiting for.

This year, you could make the same kind of money other professional bloggers are making, just with blogging. In fact, there is no limit as to how much you can make, you know the golden rule, If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve got.

If you’re really ready to go for it, take action and let us show you how you too can start cashing in on this amazing industry.

We love sharing our thoughts and helping others as they build their own businesses. And it all comes from our personal philosophy, which is based on two facts of life:

1) The More People You Help, The More Money You Will Make!

2) The More You Give, The More You Shall Receive!

Want to be a top blogger? Keep these requirements in mind as you develop and market your blog.

A Subject People are Interested In

The most successful blogs are written about topics that have a broad appeal. The more people who are interested in the topic you write about at your blog, the more people will search for information on that topic and want to read about it.

Passion for Your Subject

As a blogger, you have to write about your blog’s subject a lot. The writing is nonstop. If you don’t love your blog’s topic, it will show. Readers can detect when a blogger is just going through the motions rather than speaking from the heart.

Commitment

Successful blogging requires a massive amount of sweat equity and dedication. Building a successful blog requires more than just publishing a new post a few times a week. The most successful blogs are updated frequently (often several times each day), and the bloggers behind those blogs work relentlessly to promote their blogs and drive traffic to them.

Time

Building a successful blog requires a massive time investment. Growing a blog doesn’t stop with publishing posts. Top bloggers spend a lot of time everyday promoting their blogs, researching and reading to drive traffic to it.

A Desire to Network

Socializing is a critical component of developing a successful blog. Blogging by nature is a social medium, and successful blogs become so primarily because of the strong sense of community surrounding them. Top bloggers take time to respond to comments and interact with their blogs’ readers as well as network on social sites, forums and more all in an effort to further promote their blogs.

A Desire to Keep Learning

The blogosphere is ever-changing, which means top bloggers are always looking for new ways to enhance their blogs by persistently researching anything and everything related to blogging.

A Love of Research and Reading

Successful bloggers read a lot in order to stay updated on their blogs’ topics and the blogosphere as a whole.

Creativity

A successful blog is typically updated very frequently. That means successful blogs always provide fresh, unique content to their readers. Writing that new content requires a great deal of creativity to keep readers from feeling bored or from feeling like the blog does not bring them any value.

Patience

Blogging success does not happen overnight. Be prepared to stay dedicated to promoting your blog for the long haul. Eventually, your hard work should pay off with increased traffic and a significant growth in popularity of your blog. The key is to not give up.

Blogging is becoming more and more popular everyday. Should you join the blogosphere? Take a look at this list to help you make your decision about blogging.

1. To Express Your Thoughts and Opinions

You have something to say, and blogs provide a place to say it and be heard.

2. To Market or Promote Something

Blogging is a great way to help market or promote yourself or your business, product or service.

3. To Help People

Many blogs are written to help people who may be going through similar situations that the blogger has experienced. Many parenting and health-related blogs are written for this purpose.

4. To Establish Yourself as an Expert

Blogs are wonderful tools to help bloggers establish themselves as experts in a field or topic. For example, if you’re trying to get a job in a specific field or hoping to publish a book on a specific topic, blogging can help legitimize your expertise and expand your online presence and platform.

5. To Connect with People Like You

Blogging brings like-minded people together. Starting a blog can help you find those people and share your opinions and thoughts.

6. To Make a Difference

Many blogs are issue-based meaning the blogger is trying to provide information to sway people’s thinking in a certain direction. Many political blogs and social issues blogs are written by bloggers who are trying to make a difference in their own ways.

7. To Stay Active or Knowledgeable in a Field or Topic

Since successful blogging is partially dependent on posting frequency and providing updated, fresh information, it’s a perfect way to help a blogger stay abreast of the events in a specific field or topic.

8. To Stay Connected with Friends and Family

The world has shrunk since the Internet has become more accessible. Blogs provide a simple way for family and friends to stay connected from different parts of the world by sharing stories, photos, videos and more.

9. To Make Money

It’s important to point out that the potential does exist to generate revenue from your blog with hard work and commitment. There are many bloggers who bring in big bucks. With patience and practice, you can make money through marketing and other income-generating activities on your blog.

10. To Have Fun and Be Creative

Many people start a blog simply for fun. Perhaps a blogger is a fan of a particular actor or loves knitting and wants to share that passion through a blog. One of the most important keys to successful blogging is having a passion about your blog’s topic, so you can write prolifically about it. Some of the best and most interesting blogs started out as blogs that were written just for fun and to give the blogger a creative outlet.

Building a successful blog is a commitment in time and effort. Follow these five tips to choose a topic to write about on your blog that will put you on the path to reaching your blogging goals.

1. Choose a Topic You’re Passionate About

A successful blog is updated frequently (often several times a day). If your blog has a chance at success, you need to keep your content fresh, which means you need to consistenly update your blog. Make sure you choose a topic for your blog that you feel strongly about and truly enjoy. Otherwise, writing about it will feel stale very quickly. You need to be able to stay motivated about your blog’s topic for a long time.

2. Choose a Topic You Like to Discuss with Other People

Successful blogs require two-way conversation between you (the blogger) and your audience (your readers). As readers leave comments on your blog or email you to discuss your posts in further detail, you need to be responsive and receptive to them. Your blog’s long-term success will depend on the sense of community you can create around it.

3. Choose a Topic You Don’t Mind Debating with Other People

The blogoshpere is made up of people from all walks of life with varying opinions. As your blog grows, more and more people will find it, and some of those people may not agree with everything you write. Successful bloggers enoy discussing their blogs’ topics from all angles and appreciate a healthy debate.

4. Choose a Topic You’re Not Overly Sensitive About

As your blog grows and more people find it, many are apt to not just disagree with you, but actually disagree so strongly with you that they may attack you personally. You need to have a thick skin to deflect personal attacks and strongly opposing opinions.

5. Choose a Topic You Enjoy Researching

The blogosphere is constantly changing and one of the most unique aspects of blogs is their ability to provide fresh, meaningful content and discussions about a wide variety of topics. In order for your blog to be successful, you need to enjoy reading about your blog’s topic and keeping up with news and current events related to it thereby enabling you to keep your blog’s content interesting and relevant to readers.

Starting a blog can seem overwhelming, but in truth, it’s one of the simplest ways to join the online community. Follow these tips to ensure your blog is positioned for success.

1. Define Your Goals

Before you start a new blog, it’s essential that you define your goals for it. Your blog has a greater chance of success if you know from the beginning what you hope to accomplish with it. Are you trying to establish yourself as an expert in your field? Are you trying to promote your business? Are you simply blogging for fun and to share your ideas and opinions? Your short and long term goals for your blog are dependent on the reason why you’re starting your blog. Think ahead to what you’d like to gain from your blog in six months, one year and three years. Then design, write and market your blog to meet those goals.

2. Know Your Audience

Your blog’s design and content should reflect the expectations of your audience. For example, if your intended audience is teenagers, the design and content would be quite different than a blog targeted to corporate professionals. Your audience will have inherent expectations for your blog. Don’t confuse them but rather meet and exceed those expectations to gain reader loyalty.

3. Be Consistent

Your blog is a brand. Just like popular brands such as Coke or Nike, your blog represents a specific message and image to your audience, which is your brand. Your blog’s design and content should consistently communicate your blog’s overall brand image and message. Being consistent allows you to meet your audience’s expectations and create a secure place for them to visit again and again. That consistency will be rewarded with reader loyalty.

4. Be Persistent

A busy blog is a useful blog. Blogs that are not updated frequently are perceived by their audiences as static web pages. The usefulness of blogs comes from their timeliness. While it’s important not to publish meaningless posts else you may bore your audience, it’s essential that you update your blog frequently. The best way to keep readers coming back is to always have something new (and meaningful) for them to see.

5. Be Inviting

One of the most unique aspects of blogging is its social impact. Therefore, it’s essential that your blog welcomes readers and invites them to join a two-way conversation. Ask your readers to leave comments by posing questions than respond to comments from your readers. Doing so will show your readers that you value them, and it will keep the conversation going. Continue the conversation by leaving comments on other blogs inviting new readers to visit your blog for more lively discussions. Your blog’s success is partially dependent on your readers’ loyalties to it. Make sure they understand how much you appreciate them by involving them and recognizing them through meaningful two-way conversation.

6. Be Visible

Much of your blog’s success relies on your efforts outside your blog. Those efforts include finding like-minded bloggers and commenting on their blogs, participating in social bookmarking through sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon, and joining social networking sites such as Facebook andLinkedIn. Blogging is not a demonstration of, “if you build it, they will come.” Instead, developing a successful blog requires hard work by creating compelling content on your blog as well as working outside of your blog to promote it and develop a community around it.

7. Take Risks

Beginner bloggers are often afraid of the new blogging tools and features available to them. Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things on your blog. From adding a new plug-in to holding your first blog contest, it’s important that you keep your blog fresh by implementing changes that will enhance your blog. Alternatively, don’t fall prey to every new bell and whistle that becomes available for your blog. Instead, review each potential enhancement in terms of how it will help you reach your goals for your blog and how your audience will respond to it.

8. Ask for Help

Even the most experienced bloggers understand the blogosphere is an ever-changing place and no one knows everything there is to know about blogging. Most importantly, bloggers are part of a close-knit community, and the majority of bloggers understand that everyone is a beginner at some point. In fact, bloggers are some of the most approachable and helpful people you can find. Don’t be afraid to reach out to fellow bloggers for help. Remember, the success of the blogosphere relies on networking, and most bloggers are always willing to expand their networks regardless of whether you’re a beginner blogger or seasoned pro.

9. Keep Learning

It seems like everyday there are new tools available to bloggers. The Internet changes quickly, and the blogosphere is not an exception to that rule. As you develop your blog, take the time to research new tools and features, and keep an eye on the latest news from the blogosphere. You never know when a new tool will roll out that can make your life easier or enhance your readers’ experiences on your blog.

10. Be Yourself

Remember, your blog is an extension of you and your brand, and your loyal readers will keep coming back to hear what you have to say. Inject your personality into your blog and adapt a consistent tone for your posts. Determine whether your blog and brand will be more effective with a corporate tone, a youthful tone or a snarky tone. Then stay consistent with that tone in all your blog communications. People don’t read blogs simply to get the news. They could read a newspaper for news reports. Instead, people read blogs to get bloggers’ opinions on the news, the world, life and more. Don’t blog like a reporter. Blog like you’re having a conversation with each of your readers. Blog from your heart.
